Tony Khan Holding Off On AEW Video Games
Tony Khan has given an honest assessment of the future of AEW video games as he noted there might be a wait for another release.
AEW released its first console game in the summer of 2023 as it entered the world of video games. That title, Fight Forever, harked back to classic wrestling games of the past but players were largely unconvinced by it and it received mixed reviews.
But will AEW make another foray into the world of video games in the future?
Tony Khan Teases More AEW Video Games
In an interview with Mr Wright Way, Tony Khan was asked what AEW’s future in the video game market will be and he said he thinks there will be more AEW titles in the future but for now, they’re sticking with Fight Forever:
Well, it’s a great question. I think it was a great experience for us. And now it’s going to be something for AEW as a multimedia conglomerate, a worldwide corporation — definitely, it was a great first entry with AEW Fight Forever. People can still play AEW Fight Forever all over the world. And I think, eventually, absolutely we’ll keep putting AEW games into the world.
But right now, we’re fully supporting that [Fight Forever]. And I’m excited about AEW Fight Forever. There’s still more wrestlers and exciting things happening with the game. And, you know, I think there’s a lot of opportunities in the world of gaming, to your point.
AEW announced another video game title in 2023 for fans of mobile gaming as Figure Fighters saw players use stylised versions of their favourite wrestling stars to guide them all the way to the top of All Elite Wrestling.
