Tony Khan Hits Back At AEW Ratings Criticism

Tony Khan AEW

Tony Khan is determined to keep celebrating.

As ever with AEW, television ratings have been a huge talking point among fans, and that chatter went into overdrive following the June 19th edition of Dynamite. The episode posted the lowest ratings in Dynamite history, averaging just over 500,000. This was a drop of more than 25% from the previous week.

The figures only added to criticism of AEW’s ratings, with the performance of Collision often a hot topic.

Ahead of the June 22nd episode of the show, Tony Khan took to social media to celebrate its 1-year anniversary, with a typically upbeat post. However, one fan was less than impressed by Khan’s positivity.

1 year of shocking ratings and you pretending it’s good…

In response, Khan fired back toasting the show’s recent success when up against UFC.

Yes Derek, speaking of 1 year and shocking, I was also thrilled when the 1 year anniversary Saturday Night #AEWCollision beat UFC head-to-head, 7 days ago.

What a great way to celebrate 1 year of @AEW on Saturday Nights on TNT!

Tony Khan Proud Of Sting’s AEW Sendoff

During a recent interview, Tony Khan claimed Sting’s time with AEW and retirement celebration was the best thing the company has ever done. Khan said Sting wasn’t able to enjoy his experience with WWE and was all but retired after a serious neck injury.

However, the legend was enticed back into the ring by AEW before finally bringing the curtain down his career at Revolution in March 2024. Khan described Sting’s final match as “the greatest sendoff ever in pro wrestling.”
