Tony Khan Comments On “Fascinating” WWE/UFC Merger

AEW President Tony Khan

AEW CEO Tony Khan has broken his silence on WWE’s merger with UFC.

The Endeavor takeover of WWE is complete bringing the sports entertainment giant together with UFC under their new parent company, TKO Group Holdings, Inc. The merger brings an end to over forty years of majority ownership of WWE by Vince McMahon and could very well change the face of both the wrestling business and combat sports moving forward.

The news of the takeover was not such good news however for many office staff in WWE with over 100 of them let go in the days that followed its completion.

What does Tony Khan think of WWE’s merger with UFC?

Speaking to Insider, AEW boss Tony Khan was asked for his take on the merger between WWE and UFC and thinks it will be interesting to see what the future of the whole industry holds:

“It is fascinating. It will be interesting to see what happens in the world of sports, combat sports, and pro wrestling. I love pro wrestling, it’s an amazing business. I think there are a lot of really exciting things happening with sports media rights.”

Tony Khan was also recently asked for his comments on a man known to both WWE and UFC audiences, CM Punk, following Punk’s firing from AEW but Khan is still remaining tight-lipped.
