Tony Khan Hits Back At Disingenuous AEW Critics

AEW Tony Khan

Tony Khan is not shy about big announcements and he recently caused a stir when he announced that Kenny Omega will be part of a “dream match” on the 22nd of March edition of Dynamite.

Khan took to social media to announce that Kenny Omega will take on El Hijo Del Vikingo in a bout that was originally set to take place in 2021.

El Hijo Del Vikingo is best known for his work in the AAA promotion where he is currently AAA Mega Champion in his native Mexico but he has wrestled on a handful of occasions for IMPACT Wrestling between 2018 and 2020.

With a lack of presence in the United States, social media reacted to the announcement in typical fashion with many asking exactly who Vikingo is which led to Tony Khan taking aim at social media accounts that he says only exist to criticise his company:

“They aren’t doing it to be genuine. A large % of those replies aren’t from real people, a lot of them are accounts that upon inspection seem to only exist to question and rip AEW and most of their other content seems to be a cover story to justify the existence of these accounts.

“One of my favorite bits they do is when they claim they used to love AEW in the old days, but not anymore, yet when you dig into their old posts, there’s nothing positive on AEW ever. Yes, I’m sure you all used to be great fans despite no evidence of that whatsoever.”
