Tony Khan Comments On Adam Cole’s Injury, Status For WrestleDream
Tony Khan spoke about whether or not Adam Cole’s injury will affect his match at WrestleDream.
At AEW All In, Adam Cole and MJF successfully defeated Aussie Open to become the new ROH World Tag Team Champions. The duo went on to face off against one another in the main event of the show, and despite MJF retaining his AEW World Championship against Cole, the two have remained fast friends.
On September 20th, MJF defended his World Championship against Samoa Joe in the main event of AEW Dynamite Grand Slam. Cole, who had been attending to Roderick Strong in the hospital, returned to the arena and ran to help his friend mid-match, but disaster struck when he took a bad landing after jumping off the ramp.
Cole was visibly limping on his leg, and he was taken to the hospital to be evaluated after the show. He was reportedly using crutches when he left the hospital, leading fans to wonder if his and MJF’s tag team match against The Righteous at WrestleDream was in jeopardy.
Tony Khan Says Adam Cole Is Still Scheduled For WrestleDream, Will Speak Further On AEW Dynamite
Speaking on a media call ahead of WrestleDream, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about Cole’s injury, and he had this to say:
“The Righteous match, as of now, that is still slotted for the event. Adam Cole, he was a little bit ginger on that leg, obviously I think people saw, but we’ll address that on Dynamite.”
“Very excited for tomorrow’s Dynamite. It should be a great show on Wednesday Night Dynamite and we’ll address Adam Cole and everything happening at WrestleDream on tomorrow night’s Dynamite.”
