Tony D’Angelo Makes Surprise Return At NXT Deadline
The 2025 edition of NXT Deadline featured some exciting moments and matches that will be remembered by the NXT faithful for weeks to come. All five matches on the card provided excitement to the fans.
Tonight’s event had quite a few implications for the NXT Championship, which was won back by Oba Femi in the opening match of the night as he defeated Ricky Saints in an incredibly competitive match.
He was even introduced to his next challenger just before the night ended, as the winner of the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge was crowned. After an incredible match put up by the women, the men’s match didn’t stay far behind as Je’Von Evans emerged the winner.

Evans won the Iron Survivor challenge with literally seconds to spare and will now challenge Oba Femi for the title at New Year’s Evil. The NXT Champion came out to the arena after Evans’ victory, and the two of them had a staredown with each other.
Just as the credits rolled, the lights went black, and a man was seen walking on the screen. Just as the lights turned back on, the same man from the screen was revealed to be former NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo returned with an unrecognizable look.

D’Angelo hadn’t been seen since this past summer, and he didn’t waste any time in making his mark. He emerged behind Evans, and instead of shaking his hand, he attacked the young wrestler, before having a stare down with Oba Femi, thus making his intentions of going after the title known.
