Tommaso Ciampa Provides Injury Recovery Update
Tommaso Ciampa has given an update on his recovery, as he works toward a return to the ring.
Ciampa has not worked a match for WWE since September, losing to Bobby Lashley, before sharing that he news on facing hip surgery last October.
The former NXT Champion has been undergoing stem cell treatment. Ciampa posted on Instagram details on the type of cells he is receiving and declared this his final treatment.
“Today was my final stem cell treatment.
They have this awesome tradition at @bioxcellerator where you write what you are hoping to achieve on your stem cell bag.
I wrote “dance with buddies” which is Willow’s term for wrestling, and “play tag” because it breaks my heart that I can’t run and play with my 4 year old.
130 million cells via IV
190 million cells via intraarticular (ankles, knees, hips, shoulders)
40 million cells via intradiscal (lumbar spine, facets, SI joints)
360 million stem cells in total. Let’s heal!
Mommy, Daddy, Willow Forever”
Tommaso Ciampa has not shared a potential return date, with fans eager to see the Killer Kowalski trained Superstar back in action.
Following a successful time in NXT, in which he lifted the NXT Championship twice and the NXT Tag Team Titles with Johnny Gargano, Ciampa made the move to Raw last April.
Initially working closely with The Miz, Ciampa would begin to establish a position on the main roster, facing Lashley for the US Title in his last match.
Under the leadership of Triple H, the opportunity to recreate an award winning feud between Ciampa and Gargano could be on the cards, with both signed to WWE’s red brand.
