TNA’s Joe Hendry Has Major Pro Wrestling Goal
Joe Hendry has major championship gold on his mind after having a breakout year.
It has been an incredible 2024 for TNA wrestler Joe Hendry. Not only is Hendry a top contender for the TNA World Title, but he can say he’s the only contracted TNA wrestler to headline a WWE NXT PLE as well.
At the WWE NXT No Mercy PLE in September, Joe Hendry challenged NXT Champion Ethan Page for the championship in the main event of the show. Hendry failed to become the NXT Champion that night, but the fact that he got to headline the show was a history-making moment for the Scottish superstar.
Things are going well for Hendry in TNA as well since he earned another World Title shot by winning a huge four-way match at Final Resolution.
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Hendry spoke about his huge year.
“It has been an insane year, but it’s been the best year. To me it’s proof that every dog has its day and it’s never too late as well … There were surprise appearances, there were crossovers between TNA and NXT. I’ve had some amazing opportunities, we got a song to the top of the charts, main event back-to-back TNA, WWE pay-per-views, front cover of Pro Wrestling Illustrated. It’s been the dream.”
“I’m The Guy That Tries Again” – Joe Hendry
As the discussion continued, Hendry explained the kind of wrestler he is and his mindset as somebody who has dreams of being the TNA World Champion.
“I’m not the guy that gets over the first time. I’m the guy that tries, tries and tries again. Every time someone says my name, I appear and I never stop. And that’s the message I want to put out there — is when you have a goal, you have to chase it relentlessly and for me, it’s being the TNA World Champion.”
Joe Hendry will have his next shot at the TNA World Championship at the Genesis PLE on January 19th when he challenges TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth in the biggest match of Hendry’s career.
