TNA Star Makes Shock WWE Debut In Title Match
A TNA star who has not been seen on WWE television before has made their debut in a title match after taking an illicit payoff.
Tony D’Angelo is a man used to getting what he wants. And recently what The Don of NXT has wanted is the North American Championship. D’Angelo failed to defeat Oba Femi for that title at No Mercy and so he adopted a different approach.
In a video released by WWE on social media, Tony D’Angelo was caught handing over a sizable envelope to a mystery person as they sought out help to take out Oba Femi.
The person D’Angelo was paying off was revealed on the 10th of September edition of NXT to be TNA star Alex Hammerstone. Making his WWE debut as simply Hammerstone, the former MLW Heavyweight Champion challenged Oba Femi for the NXT North American Title.
Ultimately, Hammerstone came up short at the hugely impressive Oba Femi saw off his challenger with a powerbomb.

TNA Star Defends Title On NXT
The show also saw Jordynne Grace defend her TNA Knockouts Championship in an open challenge. That challenge was answered by NXT’s Sol Ruca but Ruca’s title shot ended up going to waste due to interference from two other stars.
After Grace delivered a muscle buster to Ruca, the lights went out and when they came back on Grace was confronted by Rosemary and Wendy Choo. Rosemary provided enough of a distraction to allow Choo to choke out the champion as the referee called for the bell.
