Title Match Added To AEW Worlds End PPV
The final AEW pay-per-view of 2023 is called Worlds End and a new championship has been added to the show.
At AEW Worlds End on December 30 in Long Island, NY, All Elite Wrestling will say goodbye to 2023 by putting on their final pay-per-view (PPV) of the year. It’s the first time AEW will be doing the Worlds End PPV, so it’s a chance for everybody involved to go out with a bang.
AEW Dynamite took place in Arlington (Dallas), Texas on December 13th featuring four Continental Classic matches. However, there was also a promo segment involving the AEW Tag Team Titles that took place on the show.
The Golden Jets tag team consisting of former AEW World Champions Kenny Omega & Chris Jericho made it abundantly clear during an in-ring promo that they wanted the title shot that they earned. The Omega/Jericho team got that title opportunity by beating The Young Bucks at Full Gear. Had they lost, Omega & Jericho wouldn’t have been allowed to team together again.
When AEW Tag Team Champions Ricky Starks & Big Bill appeared on the stage, it led to the two sides taking shots at each other. Omega stated that The Golden Jets wanted their Tag Team Title match at Worlds End and Starks spoke on behalf of Big Bill to accept the challenge.
After Starks mocked Jericho’s attire claiming it was from Hot Topic, Jericho had this funny line.
“Listen, you said I’m a clown vampire, believe me, if I was going to suck my fangs into somebody, I’d do it with somebody with a lot more clout than you. Because from where I’m standing, all I see is a better-dressed, less charismatic version of Enzo Amore.”
That was a reference to Enzo & Cass when Big Bill was in WWE using the name Big Cass. They were a very popular team in NXT and on the main roster.
