Tiffany Stratton Disappointed About Not Facing Top WWE Star
Tiffany Stratton has yet to compete against the one woman in WWE she wants to wrestle the most.
It has been an impressive 2024 for Tiffany Stratton since the former gymnast won the Money in the Bank briefcase this summer. Since then, Stratton has been side by side with her “bestie” Nia Jax, who is the WWE Women’s Champion on the SmackDown brand.
On WWE Smackdown in Brooklyn, Stratton was in the ring with both Jax and Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. During a promo, Stratton said that she would cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Morgan but also suggested she might cash in on Jax.
Morgan faced Stratton in a match that didn’t go well for Tiffy Time. Jax sent Stratton the briefcase into the ring, Jax distracted the referee and Stratton missed her briefcase shot because Morgan avoided it. That led to Morgan rolling up Stratton for the win. After the match, Morgan hit Stratton with the briefcase, but Jax did come back to hit her Annihilator splash on Morgan.
During a backstage segment later in the show, Stratton assured Jax that she wouldn’t cash in on her and only said that to make Morgan believe it.
The former NXT Women’s Champion spoke to the New York Post recently to talk about what women she has been learning from.
“Most of the time it’s Bayley, and it’s Naomi, so I leaned on them two as well. They’ve been very sweet to me, very nice to me. But yeah, Nia, Bayley and Naomi are, like, my three major people that I look up to and go to for advice.”
Tiffany Stratton Wants To Face Charlotte Flair In WWE
In past interviews, Tiffany Stratton has spoken about wanting to be a WWE superstar after watching Charlotte Flair compete in the ring. Stratton is a former gymnast, who is an incredible athlete like Flair, so the two women would likely have a great match. Tiffany Stratton has called Charlotte Flair the “best to ever do it” in the past.
Unfortunately for Stratton, Flair has not wrestled in 2024 after suffering a major knee injury last December that required surgery to repair a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus. A lengthy rehab process has kept Flair on the sidelines and she may not return to the ring until early 2025.
The good news is that Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair have many years left in WWE. Stratton told the New York Post that she was disappointed about Flair’s injury, but she knows the match will happen in the future.
I was very disappointed. But I do think everything happens for a reason, so maybe there’s something bigger that will happen down the line or something that means a little bit more. I am in this story with Nia, so I definitely think I was supposed to be paired up with Nia first. And, you know, everything happens for a reason. So I think eventually we’ll be in the ring with each other.
As for the immediate future, WWE fans will have to watch Crown Jewel to see if Stratton cashes in Money in the Bank and leaves with one of the two major women’s championships.
