The Young Bucks Have Zero Regrets Over CM Punk Footage

Young Bucks AEW

The Young Bucks are not shying away from AEW airing the CM Punk footage and say they did their job by showing it.

CM Punk reopened old wounds during WrestleMania week as he claimed AEW was not a real business and Tony Khan was not a real boss. CM Punk aired his frustrations from his ill-fated time in the company while giving his side of the story of what happened between himself and Jack Perry at All In which led to Punk getting fired by the company.

In response, Tony Khan decided to air the CCTV footage from the incident which was not a decision that sat well with many. Despite that, Tony Khan has explained why he felt that choice made sense and AEW have folded the story into the upcoming match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship between The Young Bucks and FTR at Dynasty.

The Young Bucks presented the footage on Dynamite and now they’ve given their real feelings about the entire situation.

The Young Bucks Have Zero Regrets

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Matthew Jackson continued the storyline explanation for why they decided to show the All In footage as he blamed the situation for costing The Young Bucks the win in Wembley Stadium:

Since we are wrestling FTR at Dynasty, and with it being the first time doing that since All In London, so many feelings and thoughts came rushing back. Old wounds were reopened. We decided it was only fair to be transparent and honest with our fans. We needed to give them context about why we feel we came up short at All In London.

Our bodies were there in the ring wrestling FTR at Wembley, but our minds were in the back with the scapegoat in the entire situation, Jack Perry. The three of us specifically were wronged that night, and I haven’t gotten over that.

Nicholas Jackson added that they were given a job to do by their boss and they had no issues with doing it:

As EVPs, we were given a task for that week by the boss and we did it to the best of our abilities. Zero regret.

Tony Khan has touted the superstar reaction Jack Perry has received following the footage airing but it remains to be seen when he will be brought back into the fold in AEW.
