The Undertaker Explains What’s Keeping Him From Returning To The Ring

The Undertaker

The Undertaker had a WWE career like no other and many wondered if he’d ever return to the ring following his WrestleMania 36 swansong but it looks like there is one reason keeping it from happening.

For 30 years, The Undertaker was a cornerstone of WWE programming and he was a heavily featured star throughout his three decades in the company. His final match came at WrestleMania 36 where he faced AJ Styles in a cinematic Boneyard Match which exceeded all expectations as it headlined night one of the event.

The Undertaker took his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022 and teased one last ride as growled at those watching “never say never” as he made his exit from the stage.

Speaking on Hawk vs. Wolf, The Undertaker explained that he’d “be out there right now” if his body would let him perform at the high level fans are used to:

“Absolutely. If I was physically able to do it, I would be out there right now. There is a huge amount of our fanbase that will grade you on a curve. They understand that you’re getting long in the tooth, you have a lot of miles on you, but they just want you out there.”

“Then there is one part of that fanbase, ‘Ah man, he’s old, he shouldn’t be out there, he shouldn’t be doing this.’ Without any hesitation at all, if I felt like I could go and deliver, and deliver a performance that people expect when they see my name on the card, I would do it, but I know I can’t.”

The Undertaker was a part of the recent 30th anniversary of Raw celebrations where he shared what some saw as a passing of the torch moment with Bray Wyatt.
