The Undertaker Had Horrible Anxiety Before Huge WrestleMania Match
A pep talk from Triple H helped The Undertaker get through a WrestleMania match with another WWE legend.
When The Undertaker faced Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 31 in 2015, it was 25 years after Taker had debuted in WWE, so the thought of the Deadman getting nervous may seem silly, but it happens to everybody.
One year earlier at WrestleMania 30, The Undertaker lost to Brock Lesnar to end the undefeated streak at WrestleMania at 21-1. Not only that, but The Undertaker doesn’t even remember the match because he had a concussion that led to him going to the hospital during the show.
While talking to fellow WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley on Busted Open Radio, The Undertaker admitted that he had anxiety going into that match with Wyatt because the match with Lesnar one year earlier went poorly.
“I’m having unbelievable anxiety, worried about what is going to happen. Have I still got it, right? And I never had that. I always knew I was the f**king guy, and I had it, and I could do it.”
Encouraging Words From Triple H Helped The Undertaker At WrestleMania 31
That match with Bray Wyatt put The Undertaker back on the winning track since he beat the late, great Wyatt with a Tombstone to go 22-1 at WrestleMania.
“And there’s video of Brock (Lesnar) just coming to me and checking on me.
There’s another shot of Triple H, saying, ‘Don’t forget who the f**k you are.’ And I’ll never forget that. He came to me and he said, ‘Don’t forget who the f**k you are.’ That got me through that match with Bray.
It wasn’t the greatest match in the world, but for where my confidence was after everything I had accomplished, it (confidence) was at the bottom.”
Fans of The Undertaker will be able to see him on the brand new WWE LFG show debuting February 16th on A&E where he will be one of the coaches on the show along with Booker T, Mickie James and Bubba Ray Dudley, while Triple H and Shawn Michaels will also be on the show as well.
