The Undertaker Had Emotional Reaction To Recent WWE Promo

The Undertaker

A recent comment by Cody Rhodes had The Undertaker feeling a certain kind of way.

The wrestling world has been taken on an emotional rollercoaster outside the ring to start 2024, but also when it comes to WWE programming as well.

Cody Rhodes won the 2024 Royal Rumble and that meant he gets to choose what WWE World Champion he gets to face at WrestleMania 40. On the February 2nd edition of Smackdown, Cody told Roman Reigns he was coming for his Undisputed WWE Universal Title, but not at WrestleMania. That led to The Rock appearing and having a staredown with Reigns.

It appeared as though WWE was heading toward a WrestleMania 40 match between Reigns and Rock, but there was yet another detour at the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff Press Event when Cody did challenge Reigns to a match at WrestleMania. Meanwhile, The Rock appears to be a heel that’s working with his cousin Reigns.

The Undertaker is a WWE Hall of Famer who spent 30 years in WWE and is no longer heavily involved in the company, so he watches the shows as a fan. While speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast that was filmed on February 3rd (the day after Smackdown with Cody/Rock and before the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff Event), The Undertaker admits his heart sank when Cody said what he said.

“I wanted to hear Cody’s promo. It was great. It was so good and I was so invested. When he said, ‘… just not at WrestleMania,’ my freaking heart sunk into my stomach because I knew at that moment what was about to happen.”

“Believe me, money-wise, having The Rock at WrestleMania, brother, come on, against Roman who has been Champion for what, 13 years now? Samoan versus Samoan. It’s huge and it is what it is.”

The Undertaker Credits Cody Rhodes For Being a Professional

As the discussion continued, The Undertaker went on to praise Cody for handling it like a professional while adding that he had been in similar situations as well.

“Knowing and being in that situation a couple of times myself during my career, for Cody to go out and to deliver the promo that he delivered last night, I felt for him. I felt that not in my stomach because, like I said, I had been there before and he did it like a champ. He did it so professionally.”

It’s likely that The Undertaker will address the updated situation on his next podcast. As WWE fans know, there are always more twists and turns coming.
