The Undertaker Reveals What Was Difficult About WrestleMania 40 Appearance

The Undertaker WrestleMania 40

The Undertaker has admitted that an aspect of his WrestleMania 40 appearance was tough for him.

At WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, The Undertaker was one of the “surprises” involved in the main event match between new WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and the former champion Roman Reigns.

Since it was a “Bloodline Rules” match, that meant weapons were allowed and there were no disqualifications, so there was a lot of interference. After The Rock dropped old rival John Cena with a Rock Bottom, the lights went out and The Undertaker appeared in the ring with The Rock. The Undertaker took care of The Rock with a massive Chokeslam. Shortly after that, Cody took care of Reigns with a Cross Rhodes and Cody became the new WWE Champion.

What wasn’t shown on the WrestleMania 40 broadcast was what it took for The Undertaker to get into the ring and out of the ring.

While speaking on the Busted Open radio show, The Undertaker spoke about how he had his knee replaced so running into the ring and out of the ring was tough to do.

“I look at it like this. Some people will probably question my business acumen and my business sense. WWE has been so good to me. I’m there. It wasn’t about me. I felt like once I heard what they wanted to do, this makes sense. This is a complete Dusty finish. If you want me to do it, I’m there for ya. I didn’t need to hold anybody up over any money because my goodness.”

“That being said, if I had known how far I was gonna have to run to get into position, now that might have changed the whole equation. I don’t know if they could have paid me enough. Holy crap, I got these new knees. I’ve worked out and I’ve hiked but I haven’t run on them and I had to run through the bowl of the field there and trying to be elusive and not be seen.”

“I looked like a freakin’ giraffe running through there to get to the spot.”

The Undertaker Didn’t Like How He Was Portrayed On “Young Rock”

At WrestleMania 40, The Undertaker dropped The Rock with a Chokeslam in a move that reminded fans of their days together in The Attitude Era. That era was also depicted on The Rock’s TV show called “Young Rock” where we saw actors portraying stars from that era like Mankind, Triple H, Steve Austin and The Undertaker.

When talking about the show on his podcast, The Undertaker made it clear he didn’t like how he was portrayed on the “Young Rock” NBC TV show.

“It’s a comedy, right? So there has to be some elements of, I guess, the casting in some comedic light. What p*ssed me off about the whole damn thing was my hat. The hat really p*ssed me off. I didn’t like the hat.

They gave me some kind of just black clown hat. So because I didn’t like the hat I would, if it was ‘Young Taker,’ and I had to cast The Rock, I don’t know maybe Urkel or somebody.”
