The Rock Picks Surprising Name As WrestleMania MVP

The Rock on WWE Raw

The Rock has reflected on his WrestleMania 40 experience and named the person he thinks was the MVP of WWE’s showpiece event.

Taking to social media, The Rock shared a video where he reflected on his WrestleMania experience and shared a message with his fans confirming he suffered no injuries in his first proper match back in WWE in 11 years:

Post WrestleMania check in. Appreciate all the love and questions. Body feels GREAT. Banged up pretty good, but no injuries. Spent this past week training + working on getting all the inflammation and lactic acid out of my body.

Had an intense but fantastic 12 week training camp leading up to WrestleMania. Set up wrestling rings in Hawaii, California and the east coast. Flew in wrestlers and coaches to work with me on my technique, timing, agility, sharpness, snap/fast twitch movements and most importantly — work on my ring psychology, conditioning & cardio.

Our match was approximately 45 minutes so I needed my conditioning + cardio to be on point. Weighed in at 284lbs at bell time and still felt fairly light & athletic (and strong) going into the match.

An honor to share the ring with my fellow captains of industry – Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins.
These men are 3 of pro wrestling’s greatest icons. We shattered every WrestleMania & WWE record.
Incredible. Thank you. THANK YOU ALL for the trust & love – and what a f*cking ride we all just went on.

‘til we meet again,

– Final Boss

The Rock Picks WrestleMania Loser As MVP

In the video, The Rock paid tribute to both Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns as well as Seth Rollins and it was Rollins that The Rock named as the WrestleMania MVP.

Seth Rollins essentially gave up his WrestleMania to do the one thing he said he would do and be Cody Rhodes’ shield against The Bloodline. Rollins hurt his knee during the tag team match leaving him at the mercy of Drew McIntyre who defeated Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship on night two of WrestleMania.

Despite most of the attention going to The Rock, John Cena, and The Undertaker for their interventions in the Rhodes vs. Reigns match, it was Seth Rollins’ throwback to The Shield that proved pivotal in making sure Roman Reigns lost his WWE Universal Title.
