The Rock Looks Unrecognisable In New Film
Fans were shocked to see The Rock’s look in the first shot of his new movie.
After a stellar run as WWE’s Final Boss, The Rock has returned to Hollywood to shoot a new movie, The Smashing Machine. The film is a biopic of UFC fighter Mark Kerr, with Rock taking the lead role while Emily Blunt features as his wife, Dawn Staples. Kerr’s MMA career saw him compete in 27 fights, of which he won 15 and lost 11, while the other went to a ‘no contest’.
The Rock posted a first look at him in the film on Instagram, and fans have deemed the star “unrecognisable” while praising the make-up team behind his transformation. While he is playing Mark Kerr, many have likened his look to another UFC star and former WWE Intercontinental Champion, Ken Shamrock.
The Smashing Machine being produced by The Great One’s own Seven Bucks in collaboration with A24 Films, the studio that produced the Von Erich Family biopic, The Iron Claw. Filming is expected to continue until August 1st.
What Did The Rock Give Cody Rhodes Before WWE Hiatus?
In his first match in eight years, The Rock pinned Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 40 night 1. The result meant that the odds were stacked against The American Nightmare the next night as his battle with Roman Reigns was contested under Bloodline Rules. However, Rhodes overcame everything that was thrown at him to end The Tribal Chief’s record-breaking reign as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
The following night on Raw, The People’s Champion made it clear that while Rhodes had finished one story, his story with him was just beginning and handed him a mysterious item. Now, Cody Rhodes has given some insight into just what The Rock gave him, explaining that getting the item back left him “heart-stricken.”
