The Rock Causing Frustration For WWE Stars
The Rock has been saying what he wants in WWE and that is reportedly upsetting some people within the company.
When Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson speaks on WWE television or social media, the millions…and millions of people listen.
At WrestleMania 40 Night 1 on April 6th at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, The Rock will team up with his cousin, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns against the Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes and the World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins.
That match will be a high-stakes matchup because if Rock & Reigns win then during the Reigns-Cody match at WrestleMania 40 Night 2, it will be Bloodline Rules meaning everybody in The Bloodline can interfere. However, if Cody & Seth win then The Rock claims that The Bloodline will sign a contract to make the Cody-Roman match free of The Bloodline.
During his promos on Smackdown over the last three weeks and social media videos, The Rock has used swear words like “F**k Your Story” to Cody Rhodes.
On WWE Smackdown in Memphis, The Rock was in the ring to start the show and spent plenty of time attacking Cody, his mom Michelle and Rollins as well. At one point, The Rock reacted to a clip of Cody crying by saying: “You’ve gotta be s**ting me.” The swear word was censored, but it’s still rare for anybody in today’s WWE PG environment to utter such a word.
Is The Rock Getting Heat For Using Colorful Language?
It has been reported by Aaron Varble of SEScoops that WWE Executives like Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Nick Khan and Dan Vetrelle sent out a memo recently about how talent needs to adhere to the PG guidelines that exist in the company.
The report from Varble notes that during Rock’s latest social media rant, he used the “f**k” word several times and that has rubbed some people the wrong way within WWE. Those people believe that there is a double standard since it’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who is a massive movie star who is more well-known than anybody in WWE currently.
There is additional reporting noting that some people feel this: “Even if he is the big movie star, shouldn’t everyone play by the same rules? So he can curse and use that to get over, but everyone else is handcuffed?”
It’s not known when The Rock will appear on WWE TV again. He was announced for the three straight weeks of Smackdown in March and those dates have been fulfilled.
