The Rock Confronts Cody Rhodes On WWE Raw

The Rock Cody Rhodes WWE Raw

Following a thrilling WrestleMania 40, The Rock made a surprise appearance on WWE Raw to channel The Carpenters by telling Cody Rhodes it’s only just begun.

Cody Rhodes finished his story by capturing the WWE Championship from Roman Reigns in one of the wildest WrestleMania main events in history. It was Bloodline Rules following The Rock and Reigns defeating Rhodes and Seth Rollins on the first night of WWE’s showpiece event and Roman Reigns will be left wondering why he didn’t make more of that stipulation.

Jimmy Uso was the first person to interfere as he sought to help Reigns retain the gold he’d held for 1,316 days but he was dealt with by twin brother Jey Uso. Solo Sikoa was next but he was compromised to a permanent end (for the night anyway) by John Cena.

Cena’s presence brought out The Rock who dropped his former WrestleMania rival with a Rock Bottom but Seth Rollins decked out in his Shield gear made his way to the ring. Rollins was quickly taken out by Reigns leaving The Final Boss to take off his weight belt emblazoned with “Mama Rhodes” to lay another whipping on Cody, The Undertaker appeared from nowhere and laid out The Rock with a chokeslam.

Seth Rollins’ presence proved pivotal as Roman Reigns nailed him with a steel chair rather than Rhodes, leaving the door open for three huge Cross Rhodes for the win and the title.

The Rock Is Coming After Cody Rhodes

On the Raw after WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes was welcomed to the ring by Triple H who again congratulated him on his huge achievement. Leaving the floor to Rhodes, the new champion spoke in admiration of what Roman Reigns had accomplished and showed a video of his daughter Liberty on the big screen. As he was wrapping up his comments, The Rock made his presence felt.

The Rock trashed the Philadelphia crowd before acknowledging what Rhodes had achieved. He then asked to hold the WWE Championship which Rhodes agreed to if he could hold the People’s Championship which had been bestowed upon The Great One at the WWE Hall Of Fame.

The Rock noted that Rhodes’ belt “just kinda feels right” on his shoulder before noting that he had to go away for a little while now but when he returned he was coming after Rhodes, reminding him that he pinned Rhodes on the first night of WrestleMania 40. The Final Boss finished by noting that while Rhodes’ story with Roman Reigns is now finished, as far as his story with The Rock goes, it’s only just beginning.
