Dijak Reveals Locker Room Reaction When The Miz Won WWE Title In 2021
When The Miz won the WWE Title in 2021, there was a strong reaction from the locker room according to an NXT star.
Two years ago the WWE landscape looked a lot different when Raw & Smackdown’s weekly shows took place in the ThunderDome with no fans in attendance. Instead, there was a wall of fans’ faces on screen due to the Coronavirus pandemic preventing WWE from performing in front of a live crowd.
The WWE Title picture at the time saw Drew McIntyre successfully defend the WWE Championship in an Elimination Chamber match at the Elimination Chamber 2021 Premium Live Event. After the match, Bobby Lashley attacked Drew with his Hurt Lock submission.
That attack by Lashley allowed The Miz to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Keep in mind that while The Miz did win Money in the Bank in 2010 to become WWE Champion, he didn’t win Money in the Bank in 2020. He “won” it from Otis due to a legal case that was pretty ridiculous as a storyline, even for WWE.
When The Miz got to the ring, he cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase on McIntyre, who could barely get back to his feet. The bell rang, Miz kicked Drew’s knee and hit a DDT for a two count. The Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale on McIntyre and The Miz covered to win the WWE Title in a 32-second match.
On Twitter, WWE NXT star Dijak posted a comment about The Miz’s WWE Title win in 2021 while noting that the locker room “popped huge” (meaning they were happy about it) when The Miz won the WWE Title. Dijak was known as T-Bar at the time. The quote tweet from Dijak was reacting to another tweet talking about The Miz’s journey in WWE going from an outcast in the locker room to one of the most successful WWE stars ever.
“Two years ago it was the middle of the pandemic, and it was the end of the night so there was probably only 15-20 of us left, but let me tell you the entire locker room was watching the monitor when @mikethemiz won the WWE Title and we all popped huge. From outcast to leader.”

The Miz only held the WWE Title for eight days, which might classify him as a transitional champion. Bobby Lashley beat Miz to win his first WWE Title because Lashley and MVP made a deal with Miz before Lashley beat up McIntyre to set up The Miz’s MITB cash-in attempt.
As for the present-day Miz, he will be on Raw to make some sort of WrestleMania announcement.
