A current WWE superstar has revealed that he was going to be part of The Hurt Business group until plans changed.

The Hurt Business was a very successful WWE group during the “pandemic era” when there were no fans in attendance for most of 2020 and the first half of 2021. The group’s biggest star, Bobby Lashley, had title reigns as the US Champion and WWE Champion during the period when the group was together.

In addition to Lashley’s success as a champion, they also had Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander, who were the Raw Tag Team Champions. Meanwhile, Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) was the mastermind of the group that served as a manager/mentor that occasionally wrestled as well.

Since the start of 2023, MVP has talked about getting The Hurt Business back together while Bobby Lashley “guaranteed” The Hurt Business would be back in November 2022. It hasn’t happened yet, but maybe the group’s two leaders know of a plan for it to return soon.

Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Ricochet revealed in an interview with Alex McCarthy that he was supposed to be part of The Hurt Business with Apollo Crews.

“It was supposed to be like all the original Hurt Business guys, plus me, plus Apollo [Crews]. It would have been something. But then, who beats that? I honestly think they were like ‘let’s take a couple of people out.'”

While he is not in The Hurt Business, Ricochet will be a part of WrestleMania 39 when he teams up with Braun Strowman in a Fatal 4-Way tag team match against Alpha Academy, Viking Raiders and The Street Profits. The match is scheduled for Saturday, April 1st aka Night One of WrestleMania Goes Hollywood.
