The Hardys & Dudleyz Appear At WWE SummerSlam Ahead Of Huge Match

Two of the most iconic tag teams in WWE history appeared at SummerSlam ahead of their final ever match with each other.

At Slammiversary, The Hardys rolled back the years one more time to win the TNA World Tag Team Championship in a wild Ladder Match. However, the nostalgia wasn’t done there.

After the match, the pair were confronted by Bully Ray, better known as Bubba Ray Dudley. He began by congratulating the new champions before challenging them to one more match at Bound For Glory.

The announcement was especially surprising as, in recent years, D-Von Dudley has suffered a stroke and undergone major spinal surgery, after which he was told he’d never wrestle again.

WWE Celebrates 25th Anniversary Of TLC

Now, before that match, and to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first-ever TLC match, The Hardys and The Dudley Boyz have appeared at SummerSlam.

The first-ever TLC match took place at SummerSlam in 2000. It was Edge and Christian who won that match against The Hardys and The Dudleyz; however, given the fact that they are both in AEW, they were not featured, although Michael Cole did mention them by their WWE names on commentary.

SummerSlam saw the huge return of Brock Lesnar to WWE after two years in the wilderness. Lesnar made his comeback to attack his old rival John Cena after Cena lost the WWE Title to Cody Rhodes.
