The Hardy Boyz Have Meeting With WWE

WWE Hardy Boyz Matt Hardy Jeff Hardy

The legendary WWE tag team known as The Hardy Boyz had a meeting that will likely get the wrestling world talking.

Matt and Jeff Hardy are recognized in pro wrestling as one of the greatest tag teams in the history of pro wrestling. The brothers have been active in the business for over 30 years with both men having matches in WWE going back to the mid-1990s.

During their run as a tag team, Matt and Jeff were most known for their long run in WWE starting from the late 1990s and into the 2000s decade. They left to work with other promotions at times and then made a triumphant WWE return at WrestleMania 33 in 2017, which elicited one of the loudest crowd reactions in WWE history when the Hardys returned “home” to WWE.

After spending a few years in AEW that wasn’t that productive for the duo, they left that company and are currently working for TNA Wrestling although they don’t have signed contracts there.

It was reported by PWInsider that the Hardy Boyz met with WWE in Cleveland. The report noted that some content was filmed to be rolled out via WWE’s digital team. The Hardys were in Cleveland as part of the Wrestlecon signing event taking place.

Fightful Select added that Matt & Jeff Hardy were invited to film interviews for WWE content. Some of the content is for active series while there could be some Hardy-specific content as well. Whether that means a biography type show is not yet known.

As for their TNA run, The Hardys are working there without contracts, but they do have dates committed there and are enjoying their time in TNA.

Regarding future appearances with WWE, Fightful’s sources claim there wasn’t much to read into the meeting, but outside sources think that The Hardys could appear on WWE television again when all is said and done.

The Hardys are set to wrestle at the TNA Tapings in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, August 3rd so that’s happening at the same time as SummerSlam in Cleveland, which means there won’t be a Hardys appearance at SummerSlam.

Matt And Jeff Hardy Have Their Eyes On WWE NXT Tag Team Titles

Since we are living in an era where WWE is working with TNA by having talent from both companies on the other’s shows, Matt Hardy recently spoke about potentially winning the NXT Tag Team Titles one day.

“In wrestling, never say never. I will say that the NXT tag team titles are not on our list of titles that we’ve won, so we are interested in that.

The crossover between TNA and NXT is great. It’s exciting. It’s unpredictable. That’s a positive for the business and industry.”

Jeff Hardy also spoke about the Hardys going after the NXT Tag Team Titles.

“I’m a fan of first time evers and us in NXT, just the vision of that, is very exciting to me.”

“When Matt first showed up in TNA, my wife called me and said, ‘Did you know Matt was going to TNA?’ ‘No. I had no idea.’ Then I watched the footage. ‘Oh my God.’ To myself, I speak with my soul, I said, ‘There is no way we’re going to TNA.’ Then I let that dwell, I thought about it, ‘Wait a minute, I had a lot of cool moments and created a lot of great memories in TNA.’”

“Then, it was last notice, we had the conversation, I agreed to go back. It feels right, like it’s supposed to be this way. Joe Hendry in NXT, all that stuff is exciting.”

Now in their late 40s, the Hardys are near the end of their careers as active competitors, so a potential WWE return could happen at least one more time before they retire for good.
