The Former WWE Champion Teddy Long Believes Should Come Back To Wrestling
WWE Hall of Famer and former SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long recently made a strong case for the return of former Divas Champion AJ Lee to the wrestling world.
In an interview on “Sportskeeda WrestleBinge,” Long shared his thoughts on why AJ Lee’s comeback could greatly benefit WWE. AJ Lee, who retired from professional wrestling in 2015, left an unforgettable mark on the women’s division. Her combination of charisma and in-ring talent made her a fan favourite and a key figure in the early stages of the women’s wrestling revolution.
Long, who had the chance to work with Lee before her marriage to CM Punk, had nothing but praise for her. He reflected on their time together in WWE, highlighting her professionalism and positive attitude.
I’ve met her when I was there before she ever married CM Punk, so I had the opportunity to work with her. What a nice person, real nice lady, great attitude and everything.
Long shared during the interview. He also expressed his belief that the timing is right for Lee to make a return to wrestling, emphasising the impact she could have on the current product.
Yeah, I think it’s time for her to come back.
One of Long’s key arguments for AJ Lee’s potential return is the fact that she left WWE on good terms. Unlike some other notable exits in wrestling, Lee’s departure was amicable.
She didn’t leave on bad terms, and they didn’t bury her before she left.
Long pointed out, suggesting that the door has remained open for her return. Long concluded by stating that AJ Lee could be a valuable asset in today’s wrestling landscape, saying:
I think right now she’d be a big asset to them.
Which Former WWE Employee Did Teddy Long Blast For Lying?
Teddy Long blasted former WWE employee, Mark Carrano, for lying about getting him inducted into the Hall of Fame. Long said that Carrano had told him that whilst in a meeting with Vince McMahon about the Hall of Fame, he suggested that Long be inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame. However, Long doubts that Carrano ever suggested him as Vince McMahon has the names of who he wanted to induct into the Hall of Fame ready every year.
