The Elite Set For Huge 6-Man Tag At AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door

The Elite are set for a big six-man tag team match at the AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view.

On June 30th, All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling present the Forbidden Door PPV on June 30th in Long Island, New York. Most of the biggest names in AEW will be on the show, but going into the final Dynamite leading into Forbidden Door, The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada of The Elite weren’t part of the show.

When AEW Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson) faced The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) on the June 19th edition of AEW Dynamite, it was a non-title match. That match saw The Acclaimed pick up the win, which means that they will get a future AEW Tag Team Title match against The Young Bucks.

During an in-ring promo segment on the AEW Dynamite in Buffalo, The Acclaimed made it clear they were coming for the AEW Tag Team Titles, but no date was announced yet.

The Elite’s Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada interrupted the promo from The Acclaimed. Okada: “Scissor me, bitch.” Okada loves saying bitch as AEW fans have learned.

Matt Jackson told the fans to show respect for the EVPs. Nick Jackson said they were to conduct some business. Nick said that at Forbidden Door, the three of them challenge The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn, who Nick called pricks. Gunn said he couldn’t hear because the fans were telling The Elite that they suck. Gunn said he knows how to deal with EVPs. Gunn said he happened to know a President and that led to NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi appearing on the screen.

In a video promo that featured translations on the screen, Tanahashi said he’s coming to Forbidden Door to fight his old rival Okada, so he’ll be teaming up with The Acclaimed against The Elite’s Young Bucks and Okada. Tanahashi: “Scissor Ace is coming.”

That means it will be The Acclaimed & Hiroshi Tanahashi against The Young Bucks & Kazuchika Okada at Forbidden Door. A graphic appeared on screen to promote that match.

The Elite Will Choose The Wild Card In Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament

Prior to the segment in the arena, The Young Bucks duo of Matthew & Nicholas Jackson were backstage with their AEW Tag Team Titles. Nick claimed The Acclaimed beat them last week because The Young Bucks were distracted. Matt said that it was okay because they were still the AEW Tag Team Champions while Kazuchika Okada was still the Continental Champion and Jack Perry will become the TNT Champion at Forbidden Door in a Ladder Match.

What was most interesting about what they said is that Matt claimed they are going to insert their very own Wild Card in the Owen Hart Foundation Cup. Matt said that man is going to win the tournament, so they will have all the power and all the gold.

While there is no confirmation yet, many people are predicting “Hangman” Adam Page in that spot as the Wild Card wrestler.
