The Big Show Reveals Which WWE Moment Made Him “So Uncomfortable”
Wrestling icons Chris Jericho and The Big Show discussed various memorable moments from their careers, including some less flattering experiences. The Big Show candidly shared what he considers his most regrettable WWE television segment—the infamous “New Year Baby” segment.
The Big Show did not hold back when recounting this embarrassing moment on an episode of the “Talk Is Jericho” podcast.
There’s been a lot of stuff I’ve done that has been absolutely horrendous, but I think for me personally, the worst thing I’ve done was when Vince [McMahon] made me do the ‘Baby New Year’ thing because it was so freakin’ awkward.
He vividly described the uncomfortable experience of being dressed in a diaper and New Year hat, forced to dance on stage. The Big Show humorously imagined McMahon watching the segment with amusement.
All I could think of was some billionaire masturbating video where he’s got some fat guy. You can imagine Vince in some dark room looking at it on a big screen, like, ‘Yeah, now sh*t in the diaper, you fat b*stard sh*t in the diaper. That’s it.’ It was just so uncomfortable.
The Big Show speculated that McMahon’s intention behind the humiliating segment was to encourage him to lose weight.
I got fat, so he goes, ‘So you’re a fat New Year Baby. Maybe you should lose some weight,’ but that’s the kind of relationship I’ve had with him. He’s getting fat, I need to motivate him. Let me embarrass him.
