Taz To Miss Upcoming AEW Shows Including Forbidden Door

Taz in AEW

Taz will miss AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

In November 2024, Taz confirmed that he’d undergone knee replacement surgery and was working on his recovery. At the time, he said that he’d been hoping to avoid surgery until he was in his mid-60s, but ultimately, the pain he was dealing with became too much.

That surgery came after Taz revealed that doctors told him he’d need both knees and both shoulders replaced. He stressed that this had more to do with overtraining rather than any bumps taken in the ring.

Fast forward to August 19, and the veteran has confirmed on social media that he’ll miss Dynamite in Glasgow, Scotland, on August 20, and Forbidden Door four days later. He noted that he’s still recovering from that knee replacement surgery, and that makes long flights difficult.

“I will be off this week, a combo of doctors’ appointments/imaging test on a couple of future surgeries, some R&R & most importantly, my new knee does not cooperate to well w/very long flights at the moment. Hope u all enjoy #AEWDynamite & #ForbiddenDoor!”

Injured AEW Star Will Miss Forbidden Door

Meanwhile, Eddie Kingston recently expressed his frustration at missing Forbidden Door for the second consecutive year. He said that, given his love and reverence for Japanese wrestling, missing the crossover event in London is especially hard to take.

Kingston also stated that while he’s finally resumed in-ring training, he hasn’t been medically cleared to wrestle on television.

The former Ring of Honor World Champion has been out of action since suffering a broken leg, and torn ACL, and a torn meniscus back in May 2024 in a match against Gabe Kidd. During the match, Kingston took a suplex from the ring apron through a table at ringside, but his leg crashed against a steel barrier.
