Swerve Strickland Fires Warning To Wantaway WWE Star

Swerve Strickland with the AEW World Championship

Swerve Strickland is promising to give all challengers hell.

On June 8th it was reported that Ricochet is planning to leave WWE when his contract expires, and he’s now informed the company of his decision. It’s believed the high-flyers contract expires sometime in the summer, and he’s expected to attract interest from just about every major promotion on the planet.

The report notes the star will be written off television in the coming weeks to facilitate his exit. Ricochet is currently feuding with Bron Breakker on Monday Night Raw.

During a recent interview, AEW’s Will Ospreay spoke of his frustration at how Ricochet was being used in WWE. Ospreay said it was “appalling” that the star was being used on the company’s Speed show on X when he’s one of the greatest high-flyers in the world.

Interestingly, it seems Ospreay isn’t the only AEW name preparing for the star’s rumoured arrival.

Swerve Strickland Is Ready For Ricochet

As speculation around Ricochet’s future goes into overdrive, AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland appeared to send a warning to the star. In a post on social media alongside an imposing photo, Strickland simply wrote “U come here I’m giving u hell.”

Strickland and Ricochet have a lengthy history dating back to their time on the independent scene. The pair have clashed for several promotions and shared a locker room, but not the ring, while with Lucha Underground.

Swerve Strickland is scheduled to defend the AEW World Championship against Will Ospreay at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 30th.
