Swerve Strickland Faces Huge AEW Double Or Nothing Challenge

AEW might be Swerve’s House but Daddy will be coming home at Double Or Nothing to challenge Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship.

Swerve Strickland captured the AEW World Title at Dynasty when he defeated Samoa Joe for the gold. Since then Strickland has proven to be a fighting champion taking on the likes of Kyle Fletcher and Claudio Castagnoli as he continues to dominate in the company.

On the 26th of May, AEW will return to Las Vegas for the sixth Double Or Nothing pay-per-view and on Dynamite in Winnipeg, Swerve Strickland found out who his challenger for that show will be.

Strickland took to the ring in Winnipeg and had his say about The Young Bucks’ shock attack on Tony Khan, calling it a “b*tch move.” But with Khan not at the show, The Bucks were listening to everything and interrupted to inform Strickland that he’d be facing a former world champion and a Canadian legend at Double Or Nothing.

As the anticipation built with the crowd expecting hometown hero Kenny Omega, former TNT Champion Christian Cage marched to the ring surrounded by The Patriarchy. Cage went to talk to Strickland but instead clocked the champion with a microphone as The Patriarchy attacked him and Prince Nana.

Cage had not forgotten what Swerve Strickland did to Nick Wayne back in 2023 and even referenced being embarrassed after teaming with Strickland in a loss to Sting and Darby Allin at All In. Of course, Cage then discussed Strickland’s daughter and said after Double Or Nothing she’d want nothing to do with him and would then have a father she could be proud of.
