Surprising Update On Jacob Fatu
A new report has offered a positive update on Jacob Fatu.
On October 16, it was reported that Jacob Fatu was dealing with a “non-wrestling” related injury. Not only that, it was feared that the undisclosed issue could keep him out of action “well into 2026.”
Despite this, he continued to be advertised for SmackDown, and was only removed from his scheduled match with Drew McIntyre seconds before the main event. Meanwhile, reports emerged from Fightful Select and PWInsider suggesting that Fatu was dealing with a dental issue and would be back in the ring much quicker than earlier claimed.
With Fatu out of action, he was replaced at the last second by Cody Rhodes. However, the match between McIntyre and Rhodes ended in a disqualification after the latter smashed the Scottish star with the Undisputed WWE Title belt.
Although the match was over, the brawl between the pair continued, and they were eventually separated by officials as the show went off the air.
What Next For Jacob Fatu?
Following SmackDown, it’s been reported that although Fatu will miss one of WWE’s biggest events of the year, things aren’t as bad as first feared. As noted by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the star will miss Survivor Series, but will likely be back before the end of 2025.
“Jacob [Fatu] is having dental work done, so he’s going to be out for a while…
It’s not going to be a long time. My impression was it would be before the end of the year, but missing War Games.”
Since making his WWE debut in June 2024, Jacob Fatu has established himself as one of the company’s breakout stars and has been pegged by the likes of Paul Heyman as a future WrestleMania main event star.
