AEW Blood & Guts is looking to grab the headlines.

On November 12, AEW will hold its latest Blood & Guts Dynamite special, and it’s set to be one of the company’s biggest nights of the year.

For the first time ever, there will be a women’s Blood & Guts Match alongside the men’s bout, with Mercedes Mone, Kris Statlander, “Timeless” Toni Storm, and Willow Nightingale all involved. There’s also the small matter of a Falls Count Anywhere Match between “Hangman” Adam Page and Powerhouse Hobbs.

But there could be another shock on the way.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that he’d heard there was a surprise return planned for the show. However, his comments came with the sizeable caveat that this was far from a guarantee.

“I do think there’s a chance we’re gonna see a surprise return on AEW tonight. I don’t know this really at all. But I heard something over the weekend where I think it’s possible”.

Chris Jericho Seemingly Done With AEW

Alvarez was quick to point out that he wasn’t referring to Chris Jericho or Britt Baker, who have both been absent for several months. Not only that, it seems that Jericho won’t be returning to AEW at all.

On the latest episode of his podcast, Chris Jericho threw shade at his current employer and suggested that TNA recently looked like the number two company in North America behind WWE. It didn’t go unnoticed by fans that TNA has a very strong working relationship with WWE, and Jericho has been heavily linked with a return to the sports entertainment giant.

Jericho’s AEW deal is believed to expire in December, leaving the way clear for a potential return to WWE at the 2026 Royal Rumble.
