Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock is one of the storied rivalries in WWE.

The Rattlesnake and The Brahma Bull brawled for most of the late 1990s and early 2000s before Austin was forced to retire in 2003, aged only 39.

Nevertheless, he has continued to make sporadic appearances, creating new memories for fans.

Fightful Select recently reported hearing from sources that Stone Cold Steve Austin might have one last match in him. It also detailed the Hall of Famer’s interest in wrestling, given the circumstances were right.

Previously, WWE planned to feature the six-time champion in a match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, but that did not transpire.

If Austin does indeed step into the squared circle one last time, a lot of names backstage would be itching to throw their names into the hat.

Stone Cold Steve Austin last wrestled in the main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania 38, facing Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred match, which he won via pinfall.

Rikishi Pitches Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs. The Rock

Rumors about Stone Cold Steve Austin’s return have hyped up Rikishi, too.

During a recent episode of his Rikishi Fatu Off The Top podcast, the former world tag team champion pitched a match for Austin against his old nemesis, The Rock.

Why don’t we just book the GOAT versus the GOAT? You know, if you book Rock… and, you know, they had Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier back in the day? When we talk about wrestling, let’s talk Stone Cold coming back and let’s book him against the Rock.

Here’s the beautiful thing, man: they enjoy working with each other, right? They helped build each other’s career. And, for TKO, and I would think Netflix, I would think everybody would be happy as hell because these two jokers [are] going to sell tickets! [H/T: Wrestling Inc]

Austin’s most recent appearance in the Stamford promotion was during WrestleMania 41, where he rode his ATV and famously crashed into a ringside barrier.

Meanwhile, The Rock has not been spotted since Elimination Chamber 2025, the PLE which witnessed John Cena’s heel turn for the first time in two decades.
