Steve Austin Had Physical Limitations At WrestleMania 41

Steve Austin WWE Talk

Steve Austin wasn’t feeling 100% during his appearance at WrestleMania 41.

For the second time in his illustrious career, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin was honored during the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony during WrestleMania 41 weekend in Las Vegas.

The iconic Stone Cold already got a Hall of Fame induction as a singles wrestler in 2009. This year, it was Austin’s legendary WrestleMania 13 match with Bret Hart that was inducted into the Hall of Fame as an “Immortal Moment.”

Steve Austin made appearances during both nights of WrestleMania as well. On WrestleMania Saturday, we joined Bret Hart on the stand when the Hall of Fame inductees appeared. On night two, Austin announced the attendance in the stadium.

There was also an unfortunate accident involving Steve Austin when he drove a 4-wheeler into the barricade at ringside, which knocked a woman down in the front row. The woman appeared to be okay, but the moment drew a laugh since it wasn’t planned.

Knee Surgery Prevented Steve Austin From Getting Physical At WrestleMania

During his legendary career as a WWE superstar, Steve Austin famously wore black knee braces during matches due to the injuries he was dealing with. Several months ago, Austin had knee replacement surgery to help his quality of life as a guy who loves to compete in offroad racing and spend time on his family farm.

In an interview Ariel Helwani on The Ariel Helwani Show, Stone Cold talked about what he was dealing with at WrestleMania.

“I was just happy to be there. I had a knee replacement about four months ago. For a total knee replacement to heal up 100%, you’re looking at about a year. That was on December 4th. I don’t squat anymore, I’m doing some Hindu squats along with my workouts, but I haven’t even tried to run yet.

I don’t even know if I can run, not that I run a lot to the ring. I would imagine about I’m 30-35% of capacity. I did what I could.

Just to be involved in the show, go out there and announce the attendance, that’s what I did. That’s about all I could do. Earlier in the year, not really discussions, just brief, ‘Hey, if you want to be there, maybe we can figure you in.’ I said, ‘I’m getting my knee replaced. We’ll see what happens when that time comes.’ Time came and I can’t do much.”

A backstage clip was shown of Steve Austin at WrestleMania 41 where he praised Iyo Sky for her impressive performance in a match where she retained the Women’s World TItle in an incredible match.
