Stone Cold Steve Austin Allegedly Angry With WWE

Stone Cold Steve Austin is an extremely well-established name in the pro-wrestling industry.

However, the man behind the mask is Steven James Anderson. His in-ring moniker is what fans know and love.

Unfortunately, WWE copyrights the in-ring names so that pro-wrestlers who leave the company aren’t able to use the company’s assets for their own profit.

Stone Cold Steve Austin never received his trademark

The Texas Rattlesnake is widely credited with WWE’s rise to popularity during the Attitude Era. He is the one who led the product, engaged with the fans, and created a WWE Universe that one could only dream of.

However, when he did retire from the Stamford-based promotion, the company did not give him the trademark to his in-ring name. Ric Flair spoke about The Texas Rattlesnake’s annoyance over this when he appeared on Games With Names.

That’s why Steve Austin is so mad. They will never give up Stone Cold.

All Steve wants to do is hunt and fish. He just built a ranch about 40 miles out of Tahoe. Moved out of LA. I think he kept his place here, but he moved there full time. He won’t have anything to do with it. Steve basically is the one that took them public. He made a lot of money, but not nearly enough. And then not giving him his trademark? So it’s who knows…. really really hard to get intellectual property.

Stone Cold Steve Austin has been making sporadic appearances in WWE since his retirement. While fans want him to return to the ring for one final match, it does not seem to be a realistic dream anymore.
