Sting Shares Emotional Message After AEW Dynamite Ends

Sting AEW

The final AEW Dynamite in the career of Sting is now over and the fans there to see it got to hear from The Icon after the show went off the air.

The final Dynamite before Revolution was also the final Dynamite in the career of Sting as The Icon takes part in his final match in Greensboro, North Carolina. Sting and Darby Allin will defend the AEW Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks and the EVPs spent much of Dynamite looking for the WWE Hall of Famer.

The Bucks got their wish later on as they first came across Darby Allin in a Sting mask but they got the better of the TNT Champion before bringing Ric Flair to the ring. Flair had caused some worry about his intentions after meeting with The Bucks the prior week but the dirtiest player in the game proved to be just that as he scratched the eyes and punched The Bucks before receiving a low blow.

That brought out Sting who descended from the rafters as he had done so many times before in WCW. Nicholas Jackson received the Scorpion Death Drop for his trouble before The Young Bucks were forced to retreat as the show went off the air.

Sting Thanks Everyone In Emotional Address

A video was captured by a fan in the arena which shows Sting addressing the crowd as he thanked them and the city of Huntsville, Alabama as he recalled one other time he descended from the rafters in the city:

I’m not only doing my last Dynamite. I’m doing my last Dynamite in Huntsville. I’m doing my last Dynamite with Darby Allin as my tag team partner. I’m doing my last Dynamite with ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair right next to me. When you say ‘Thank you, Sting,’ thank you. Thank you, Huntsville, Alabama. That’s the second time I’ve actually come out of the ceiling in this building.

The first time, I threw the bat to Dallas Page, so there’s some good history right here. I’m glad to be back right here. What can I say after all these years? What can I say? Anything that I would say is just kind of trivial when I really mean thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I could not have done any of this without this tag team partner right here, Darby Allin. I would have never been put on the map if it wasn’t for this man right here, ‘The Nature Boy.’ I love you, Huntsville. Thank you, thank you.

Sting will lace up his boots one final time at Revolution on March 3rd but one former teammate of Sting’s has explained very clearly why they won’t be there.
