Sting To Close Another Chapter On Wrestling Career
It’s now or never for Sting.
At AEW Revolution 2024, Sting stepped into the ring for the final time. In the main event, the veteran teamed with Darby Allin to successfully defend the World Tag Team Titles against The Young Bucks in a wild Tornado Tag Team Match.
Through broken tables and shattered glass, The Icon and Allin emerged victorious as the former WCW star soaked up the atmosphere during the emotional farewell.
The legend began his career back in 1985 and went on to enjoy the kind of run young wrestlers can only dream of. The star became one of the most famous wrestlers on the planet via spells with Jim Crockett Promotions, WCW, TNA, WWE, and latterly AEW.
Sting To Make More Changes
In a post on social media, Sting announced that 2025 will be his last wearing his famous face paint and gear, noting, “It’s 2025 or never.”
“I have enjoyed meeting fans at events around the world. As much as I have loved interacting with you all in the traditional Stinger war paint, I’ve decided that 2025 will be my last year appearing in full gear. I guess it’s 2025 or never. Wow. Tough to speak that out.”
After taking part in his father’s retirement match, Steven Borden began training as a wrestler under the guidance of Darby Allin. At one stage, the would-be star was sleeping in a tent in front of Allin’s house.
Despite no longer competing in the ring, Sting remains under AEW contract.
