WWE Wants “Stone Cold” Steve Austin To Do More Matches
If you want to see “Stone Cold” Steve Austin do some more matches in a WWE ring, gimme a hell yeah.
Apparently, WWE is giving Austin a “hell yeah” because they want to see more of the Texas Rattlesnake in the ring.
Steve Austin got a lot of attention this past weekend when he posted a video of himself working to show that at 57 years of age, the WWE Hall of Famer is in incredible shape. That’s not a huge surprise because Austin looked very sharp in the WrestleMania 38 Night One main event when he beat Kevin Owens with a Stone Cold Stunner in what was Austin’s first match in 19 years. Austin also appeared at Night Two of WrestleMania 38 when he showed up to give Vince McMahon one more Stone Cold Stunner while having another beer bash, as usual.
In that story about Austin working out, we also shared a report credited to Wrestlevotes of GiveMeSport, who noted that Austin was open to doing another match.
In an update on the potential Austin match, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select is reporting that WWE wants him to do more matches with the company. The report stated that the Vince McMahon regime was hoping for it to happen and they added that Triple H (who is running WWE creative right now) “actually made an offer for Austin to do another match.”
It was also noted by Fightful that it’s unknown if another Austin match would be a Saudi Arabia or perhaps at WrestleMania 39 next April in Los Angeles. It was only mentioned that there was an offer. Fightful did add that initially, Austin and WWE were far apart on terms, but a lot can change between now and April.
Another WWE legend John Cena is likely going to be wrestling at WrestleMania 39 next year after not competing in the ring since SummerSlam 2021 due to acting/hosting jobs. If Austin and Cena are both wrestling on the same card, it could certainly lead to a potential Austin-Cena match between two top WWE guys from different eras.
