Steve Austin Thinks WWE Has Gone Too Far
Steve Austin remains old school.
During WrestleMania weekend, Michael Cole announced the launch of a new documentary called Unreal that will take fans behind the scenes like never before.
According to the company, the docuseries will take fans deep inside the writers’ room to show how WWE’s shows and Premium Live Events are put together.
As noted by Variety, the documentary will be a ten-episode series, with each episode lasting 50 minutes. The docuseries will be produced by Omaha Productions, NFL Films, Skydance Sports, and WWE. Omaha Productions also worked on Stephanie’s Places.
Steve Austin Thinks WWE Needs To Keep The Magic
The announcement was met with a mixed reaction online, with many fans believing some parts of the company’s creative process should remain hidden. And that’s apparently an opinion shared by WWE legend Steve Austin.
During an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Austin was asked about the documentary, and he said some things should remain an illusion.
“That’s where I’m a little old school on that. I’m a big magic fan, but if Harry Houdini is still around, I don’t want him to tell me how he does it, I want to figure out how he does it. If I can’t, then I’ll keep wondering and keep watching. Don’t tell me how he’s doing it, let’s see if I can figure it out myself. I know it’s not magic, it’s an illusion, but let me keep wondering about that illusion,”
In the same interview, Steve Austin admitted he’d be open to competing in an exhibition match, but in reality, he knows his career is now over. The veteran hasn’t wrestled since beating Kevin Owens in the main event of WrestleMania 38 night one.
