Stephanie McMahon’s Daughter Changed WWE Career Goals Due To Vince McMahon

Stephanie McMahon’s daughter had WWE dreams, but those may have changed because of her grandfather.

When the three daughters of Stephanie McMahon and Paul “Triple H” Levesque were born in 2006, 2008, and 2010, their grandfather Vince McMahon was the Chairman and CEO of WWE, who was running the company.

That changed in July 2022, when Vince “retired” due to multiple reasons involving past WWE misdeeds and was removed as Chairman. Stephanie served as Chairwoman for several months until Vince returned in early 2023.

After Vince returned to WWE, Stephanie left the company that her father had built and where she had spent most of her adult life working.

In January 2024, Vince McMahon was sued by a former employee, Janel Grant, for sexual abuse and sex trafficking, which essentially led to WWE owners TKO forcing Vince out of the company he built.

For his part, Vince McMahon is fighting the lawsuit filed by Grant and claims he is innocent.

While speaking on her What’s Your Story podcast, Stephanie McMahon spoke about how her oldest daughter, Aurora, who is 19 years old, used to want to run WWE just like her grandpa, Vince.

“She was on the road until she was about three, maybe even a little older. I’d wheel her into the arena on my briefcase. She would come to the production meetings. She’d get on the mic and sing the ABCs or Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Then she said, “Mommy, I don’t want your job. Daddy, I don’t want your job. I want Pop’s job.’ She wanted to be the boss, from the get-go.”

Stephanie McMahon’s Daughter Lost WWE Aspirations Due To Vince McMahon

As she continued talking about Aurora Levesque’s love of the wrestling business, Stephanie revealed her daughter was talented in the ring, but things changed when “everything happened with my dad” although she didn’t specifically mention Vince by name.

“She’s naturally gifted in the ring. Nattie used to train her a long time ago, and then everything happened with my dad and the business, and I left. I don’t realize the impact it had, necessarily, especially on Aurora, but on all of my kids.

Aurora always saw a path forward to the business. When everything happened, suddenly, that wasn’t there anymore. She had to shift her focus and what she thought she was going to do. That happens in life, but it was a path that she suddenly felt wasn’t there anymore. Who knows, she might find her way back to it.”

Of course, Aurora’s dad, Triple H, is the WWE Chief Content Officer, running the company creatively, and Stephanie McMahon will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2026 while also hosting a WWE podcast. As Stephanie said, perhaps Aurora could find her way back to it down the road.
