Spoiler On WWE’s Plans For Big WrestleMania Title Change
A huge WrestleMania title change looks set to still take place despite a recent injury scare with Ronda Rousey still on the path to tag team gold.
WrestlingNewsPremium previously that Rousey was originally set for a huge WrestleMania 39 match against Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley. Ripley’s plans appear to have remained the same as she has challenged Charlotte Flair for the blue brand’s title.
The switch was made as Ronda Rousey pushed to be involved in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship picture alongside her long-time friend and fellow MMA Four Horsewomen Shayna Baszler. Sources within WWE have noted the belief is that Rousey and Baszler will have a title reign over the summer. Rousey’s influence in WWE is also touted as the report reads “That’s the match that she wants and whatever she wants she gets.”
However, Rousey was forced to miss a scheduled tag team match on SmackDown as she reportedly re-aggravated a previous injury. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that while Rousey might be out with the injury, the hope is she will be recovered by WrestleMania 39 where she and Shayna Baszler are set to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship:
“From what I understand, she’s limited [and] probably will be out, and exactly how much she will be recovered by, when she’s wrestling again, is unknown. But the hope is that they will still win the tag team titles at WrestleMania. That was the original idea. That’s still the hope.”
