It was on the 11th of November 2022 that Shinsuke Nakamura last competed on WWE television but the Japanese star is set to return to SmackDown on the 14th of April show.

Nakamura’s last match on WWE television came in the first round of the SmackDown World Cup where he lost to Santos Escobar. Since then the 2018 men’s Royal Rumble winner has competed on WWE live events but the last of those came back in January when he teamed with Braun Strowman and Madcap Moss to defeat Imperium.

Shinsuke Nakamura was part of WWE Hall of Famer The Great Muta’s retirement tour, taking on Muta in his last match as that character on New Year’s Day in Tokyo, Japan.

WWE has announced that Nakamura will make his return to SmackDown on the 14th of April edition of the show but it is unknown if he will be competing and no opponent has been named.

Also on SmackDown in Portland, Oregon, Triple H was on hand to announce that the WWE Draft would be returning in a “few weeks” and noted that every WWE Superstar will be eligible to be drafted.

As well as the return of Shinsuke Nakamura, the 14th of April edition of the blue brand will also see LA Knight take on Xavier Woods.
