Shock In TNA As Mike Santana Loses World Championship
Mike Santana has lost the TNA World Championship.
In one of the more feel-good moments in recent TNA history, Mike Sanatana finally claimed the company’s top prize at Bound For Glory. After missing out at Slammiversary, he beat NXT star Trick Williams to bring the TNA title home.
As TNA returned with a live episode of Impact on November 13, Santana was scheduled to defend the title against Ryan Nemeth. However, the match was over before it truly got going, thanks to a surprise invasion by several NXT stars.
With Santana looking to gain the upper hand over Nemeth, Nic Nemeth was shown walking through the backstage area as his music played, only to be attacked by a mystery figure. Seconds later, Robert Stone, Lexis King, Tyriek Igwe, Tyson Dupont, Charlie Dempsey, Brooks Jensen, and Stacks attacked Santana as Ryan Nemeth escaped.
After Santana had his arm destroyed with a chair, Frankie Kazarian arrived with the Call Your Shot Trophy. He and Nic Nemeth shared victory in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound For Glory.
As this played out, medics had been tending to Santana, but quickly, the match was on. Despite his best efforts, Santana was pinned via a flash roll-up from Kazarian after his arm gave out while trying to hit a rolling lariat.
Frankie Kazarian Trolls Mike Santana Fans
In a short video posted on TNA’s social media accounts, Kazarian was shown leaving the arena, unsurprisingly, loving life. The new champion mocked fans complaining online, urging them to carry on being angry, quipping, “I bathe in your tears.”
“All of you sitting at home on your dumpy asses, sending me nothing but hatred. Posting on social media about how angry you are, about how sad you are. I ask, please, please give me more. I bathe in your tears.
Be angry with me, be very angry with me. But you know what? Get used to it, because the king has his crown. Frankie Kazarian is the TNA World Champion, and I’m going to be for a long time.”
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Joe Hendry has officially signed with WWE. Hendry hasn’t featured for TNA in several weeks but has remained a regular in NXT, teaming up with Thea Hail.
