Shock AEW Returns At Revolution
What should have been an incredible night for The Gunns as they survived the first challenge to their AEW World Tag Team Championship turned into anything but as they felt the wrath of FTR.
The Gunns defeated FTR on the 21st of December edition of AEW Dynamite in what could yet be Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler’s last match in the company. Austin and Colten Gunn then held a funeral segment on TV to commemorate the “death” of FTR before going on to later defeat The Acclaimed to win the AEW Tag Team Championship.
At Revolution Austin and Colten Gunn survived The Acclaimed, Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal, and Orange Cassidy & Danhausen to retain their gold but FTR had a surprise for everyone. Wheeler and Harwood took out The Gunns and stood tall with the AEW World Tag Team Championships, indicating that they were back for the belts.
Interestingly, this happened just days after The Gunns spoke openly about their “shoot” issues with FTR. The return of the popular tag team also might come as a surprise to some given that Dax Harwood has been outspoken about many of his issues in AEW and revealed that the team’s contracts with the company expire at the end of April, amid speculation about a return to WWE.
Dax Harwood took to social media to share an image of his wounds from his return, noting that it occurred just two minutes into their return after two months off.
