Shayna Baszler Says She’s Getting Cheered For Telling The Truth

wwe ronda rousey attacked shayna baszler

Since turning on Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler has won over the WWE universe.

Baszler and Rousey ran roughshod over the women’s division for months before winning the Women’s Tag Team Championships on the May 29th edition of Raw.

The pair defended the titles for the next two months until things took a turn at Money In The Bank when Baszler unexpectedly attacked the Baddest Woman On The Planet before leaving her high and dry in the ring.

In the weeks since, Baszler has gotten the best of Rousey in brawls and run her down on the mic, accusing her of having a “lack of passion” for pro wrestling and blasting her for not having to “pay her dues” and getting her first match at WrestleMania.

Despite Baszler being the aggressor in the feud, the audience has been getting behind her and cheering her on against Rousey. During an appearance on The Bump, she said this is because everything she’s saying is “real.”

“One thing I’ve always said about wrestling fans – sports fans in general – is they can smell when you’re faking the funk, and all this is legit and real to me. I think they connect to stuff that’s real.”

“You just cheer for who you like and it just happens to be me because the stuff I’m saying is real. The stuff I’m saying is the stuff fans have been saying ever since Ronda got signed.”

There has been speculation that SummerSlam could be the last match Rousey has in WWE, as it has recently been reported that the star will be stepping away from the company “well before” WrestleMania 40.
