Shawn Michaels Comments On Milestone WWE Anniversary

Shawn Michaels has the next generation of wrestling stars on his mind as the main man in NXT but now Michaels has reflected on his own special WWE anniversary.

Shawn Michaels’ list of accomplishments in WWE is arguably second to none. Michaels was the first man to become a Grand Slam Champion, he was the first man to ever enter as number one in the Royal Rumble and win, and due to his incredible matches on the grandest stage was nicknamed Mr. WrestleMania.

Although at the time Michaels’ in-ring accolades were at times overshadowed by his backstage issues, none more so than his part in the Montreal Screwjob with Bret Hart, The Heartbreak Kid has gone down in history as one of the greatest wrestlers ever and as such he has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice.

After WWE NXT celebrated the 35th anniversary of his debut in the company, Shawn Michaels took to social media to give his own thoughts on the occasion:

“35 years ago, I entered @WWEas The Heartbreak Kid and what a ride it’s been! Thank you to WWE for giving me an opportunity of a lifetime and to the incredible WWE Universe for your unending support! You’re the reason I’ve still got that sweet chin music after all these years!”
