Shane McMahon’s Staggering 2022 WWE Earnings
It was a case of there goes the money as the 2022 WWE earnings of Shane McMahon come to light – and remember he only competed in a single match that year.
Shane McMahon was a part of the men’s Royal Rumble in 2022, spending a grand total of 5 minutes and 38 seconds in the ring before being eliminated by the match’s eventual winner Brock Lesnar.
Reports at the time suggested that McMahon’s surprise appearance – his last match before the Rumble was his WrestleMania 37 Steel Cage match against Braun Strowman – could lead to a WrestleMania bout against Seth Rollins but things seemed to go south before he even got to the ring.
Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton were among the WWE Superstars reported to be unhappy with Shane McMahon’s behaviour backstage and ultimately Vince McMahon sent his son home afterwards, with any potential plans scrapped.
Now in a report filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission on January 11th, it has been noted how much the former European Champion made for his 5 minutes and 38 seconds of work:
“In 2022, Shane McMahon was retained as an independent contractor performer by the Company and received an aggregate of approximately $828,000 in connection with such services.”
This is said to be less than the $1,313,823 that Shane McMahon earned for his work in the company in 2021.
It is unknown if Shane McMahon will have any kind of future in WWE as rumours of a sale of the company continue to swirl following Vince McMahon’s return as Executive Chairman and Stephanie McMahon’s departure from her executive roles.
