Several AEW Stars Currently Unavailable
According to a new report, AEW is still without several of its top stars due to issues that have plagued the entire wrestling business in recent weeks.
AEW Dynamite took place in El Paso, Texas on Wednesday night where Bryan Danielson booked his title shot at Revolution and new champions were crowned to the dismay of fans in attendance.
However, notable by their absence from the show were the Lucha Brothers – Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo – who last appeared on AEW television on the 11th of January edition of Dynamite where they and PAC lost the Trios Championship to The Elite.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the pair as well as AEW newcomer Bandido are currently dealing with visa issues – something that had affected some WWE stars as well recently:
“A lot of people brought up, what happened with Pentagon, Fenix, and Bandido. There’s visa issues and it’s all through wrestling right now.
“WWE’s finally cleared it up, they had (Ilja) Dragunov back and (Meiko) Satomura’s coming back. But so many of these people have had issues coming in, and right now… here you are in El Paso, Texas, and Bandido, Fenix, and Pentagon would have been over like crazy on this show, and they were not even on the show.
“They weren’t on Dark ‘Elevation’, I knew they weren’t gonna be on Dynamite, but they weren’t on Rampage either.
“They probably would have been the most over guys on the entire show actually. I would think Pentagon would have been the most over guy on the show, had he been available for the show.”
Ilja Dragunov returned on NXT television where he resumed hostilities with JD McDonagh while Meiko Satomura is set to return and team with NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez to face Katana Chance and Kayden Carter.
