Seth Rollins Wasn’t Triple H’s Pick To Win At WrestleMania 41
Seth Rollins walked out of WrestleMania 41 as the winner of the Triple Threat against Roman Reigns and CM Punk.
The Wiseman betrayed both Roman Reigns and CM Punk with Low Blows, and joined hands with The Visionary.
This twist opened up avenues for more storylines and creative direction, and even breaking up Heyman and Reigns on one of WWE’s biggest stages.

I’m of the opinion that Punk should go over at WrestleMania. Is Heyman going to screw Punk over? Like, he’s in his corner but still pulling stuff for Roman? Punk should win—and not only should he win, but Heyman turning on him shouldn’t work. Punk overcomes Paul, beats Roman or Seth, whatever he’s got to do. Punk survives and thrives.
There’s always a logical road to get the story where you want it to go. But sometimes that logical road becomes predictable. And if it becomes predictable, you need to pivot.
However, another writer disagreed with the plot. The idea was to create an ending that would be both surprising and memorable.
Not seeing it? I see it, but I just hate that finish at Mania. Punk winning is great, but Heyman choosing to go with Seth and it all ending that way—that feels way more shocking. Like Seth’s been manipulating everything the whole time. Seth going over just feels like a better story to me.
