Why Seth Rollins Thinks The Rock Has More WWE Matches In Him
Seth Rollins believes The Rock could “absolutely” have more matches in WWE.
At WrestleMania 40, The Rock and Roman Reigns defeated Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes, setting the scene for a Bloodline Rules match the next night that saw Rock once again get in the ring, this time trying to aid Reigns defend his title from The American Nightmare. Ultimately, Rhodes dethroned The Tribal Chief to become the Undisputed WWE Champion, and the next night on Raw, The Rock appeared to set up a match for the gold himself.
A year later, that match has not materialised, instead, when The Final Boss appeared at Raw’s Netflix debut, he hugged Rhodes and later shared a drink with him, seemingly ending the idea of the pair meeting in the ring for good.
Whether Rock ever wrestles again is currently up in the air, but if he does decide to step between the ropes, Seth Rollins thinks he’ll be more than ready for it.
Praising The Great One’s WrestleMania performance on Maggie & Perloff, Rollins said Rock “absolutely” has one or two more matches left in him.
“You get in there one time and you might think you can do a full schedule, but I don’t know if it’s as easy as it looks. You get in there, you do one, and you go, ‘Okay, I can do this.’ He’s smart enough to know his days of doing it full-time has come and gone.
“Do I think he can get in there and do one more or a couple more? Absolutely. He was in prime condition and ready to go. He was a game opponent. For a guy that hasn’t done it in ten years, that’s really hard. It is like riding a bike, but it’s not one time. You need to get in there and get your reps in to get your mind where it’s at.
“He was an incredible performer that night. He was able to slip back into it. It was an honor for me to be in the ring with him. That’s a guy who is a Hall of Famer and a legend in our business. He’s on the Board of Directors now as well, so he’s continued to help that side of the business. It was a fun ride getting in there and to be able to stomp the crap out of The Rock.”
Figures In WWE Frustrated At The Rock
With The People’s Champion not scheduled for a match at WrestleMania, some in WWE are unhappy with The Rock’s surprise Bad Blood appearance. While it seemed like the star was further setting up a match with Rhodes when he turned up at the end of the show, it now appears that was never on the cards.
